April Newsletter - Full Band at The R Park Tavern - Sat. Apr. 11
Music Lovers,
First of all, thanks
to all of you for being on our email list, as many of you have been
list members from Slightly Sedated's inception some 20 years ago.
As you may also have
noticed, we've recently started promoting several of the musical groups
that we're in, and we'll continue doing that so you stay informed of
the your live music options, and we're very grateful to you for
continuing to support. Since we have a light month ahead with
only 1 show, Slightly Sedated at the R Park Tavern in Ridley Park on Sat. Apr. 11,
we thought we would take the opportunity to give you a brief synopsis
of all of the groups our newsletter promotes, and they are:
- Slightly Sedated
- Going strong for over 20 years and over 300 shows, they are built on
a blues foundation, and playing a diverse and eclectic mix of danceable
and classic rock from the 60's through today, and mixing in blues, country,
and alt-indie. They play many tunes and artists that you won't
hear other local bands playing, while also playing a concentration of
Tom Petty songs (nearly a tribute band). Website at http://www.slightlysedated.net
- Slightly Unplugged
- Spun off coming out of COVID, John and Steve went semi-acoustic and
have played over 50 shows with a wide mix of rock, folk, country,
blues, and indie music that entertains millenials to boomers.
They're classic but edgy, popular and eclectic, traditional and quirky,
... all in the same show, and showcase goosebump inducing harmonies
over a tight rhythmic groove you wouldn't expect from a duo. Website at
http://www.slightlysedated.net/Unplugged.htm.
- Aston Brass Band
- Formed less than a year ago, they've quickly become a hit as Delco's
best New Orleans funky style brass band covering bands like the Rebirth,
Dirty Dozen, Treme (and many other) Brass Bands, as well as mixing in
some jazz-funk, Dixieland, Swing, and 2nd line music. They are
truly a party band as their motto..."It's Always Mardi Gras with Us" implies. Website at http://www.astonbrassband.com.
- Honesty Policy
- John and Tom team up with a two acoustic guitar (fully unplugged)
spin on rock, folk, country, and blues classics. An entertaining
evening that will have you singing along.
- Rose Tree Pops Orchestra
- An established and talented 60+ piece community orchestra delivering
several concerts each year, playing both classical and popular
arrangements. Website at http://www.rosetreepops.org
As there are many venue
managers/owners on this email distribution, please feel to contact us
at info@slightlysedated.net if you are interested in booking any of the
above acts. All are experienced, professional, entertaining, and
bring a crowd. Ok, enough of an introduction, and here's what's
happening in April.
- Sat. Apr. 11 - (7:00-10:00) - Full Band at The R Park Tavern - Ridley Park, PA (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100076206070900)
One
of Delco's hidden treasures, the R Park Tavern is a friendly and cozy
neighborhood tavern with a delicious and varied pub grub menu that the
locals rave about. The "R Park" is easy to get to, located
on Sellers Ave., just minutes from I-95 (Stewart Ave. exit). "R
Park" stands for Ridley Park of course, and we're hoping many of our
Delco friends can make it out to enjoy the R Park hospitality,
conviviality, food and drink, and our music.
We hope to see you soon at one of our shows.
Slightly Yours,
Slightly Sedated (John, Steve, Mark, Lynn) and the Aston Brass Band (Bob, Kiester, Randy, Randy, Steve)
